If all goes according to schedule, I should be waking up in the recovery room at the hospital around this time tomorrow with a new left hip.
I'm a little bit nervous about the spinal anesthesia and worried about how aware I'll be of what's going on during the surgery. I've read on various joint replacement-related boards that the anesthesiologist is able to heavily sedate joint replacement patients even if they elect to go for spinal anesthesia. I'm hoping my team will give me this option -- I don't want to be aware of anything until after the operation is over.
